Pilot for new pathway to permanent residence in rural Canada for skilled foreign nationals

The Government of Canada announced today The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot. The pilot will help local communities to meet local labour market needs and support regional economic development. The pilot is to test a new pathway to permanent residence in rural Canada for skilled foreign nationals at various skill levels. Eligible local communities have until March 1st to apply to become part of the pilot. The expectation is that more information will follow soon.
